EXPANDING THE EDUCATIONAL OFFER FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS „Foundation Year” – an intenstive one-year preparatory course in English for foreigners. The primary aim of the course is to improve English language skills of participants in order to adequately prepare them to study at the University of Warsaw or another university in Poland Participants have the opportunity to improve their English language skills up to B2 level (CEFR) There are 600 hours of subjects during which participants have chance to study not only English but also take a a part in specialistic seminars, Polish language lessons and other adaptable activities aimed at preparing to functioning within academic community and socjety in Poland. The remarkable growth of students has been noticed from 2016 to 2017 from 28 to 64 participants, respectively. (the most numerous group of students comes from China and Turkey) Polish Language Courses in the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners „Polonicum” (since 2012 the Centre conducts also one-year preparatory courses to study in Polish language) Language courses and certified exams of foreign languages (available not only for students, embracing 37 languages)

FOREIGN STUDENTS IN NUMBERS W roku 2017 odnotowano bardzo duży wzrost studentów z Chin (2016 – 75 osób, 2017 – 133 osoby; dodatkowo 41 osób na Foundation Year) Zauważalny również jest wzrost studentów z Turcji (2016 – 62 osoby, 2017 – 98 osób)
MULTICULTURALISM AT THE UW IN 2017 Uniwersytet Warszawski od lat zajmuje pierwsze miejsce w Polsce w kategorii wielokulturowości (liczba krajów z min. 10 studentami). 2017 r. - 30 krajów, z których pochodziło min. 10 studentów
