8 Problem Poszukiwanie autora w bazach A&I jest zazwyczaj utrudnione przez dwa poważne problemy: Jak rozróżnić artykuły danego autora i innego o tym samym nazwisku? Jak zgrupować artykuły danego autora kiedy jej/jego nazwisko zostało zapisane na kilka różnych sposobów (np. Stambrook, P and Stambrook, P.J.) Te problemy mogą się przyczyniać do otrzymywania niekompletnych lub niedokładnych wyników.

9 Rozwiązanie Problemu Podeszliśmy do rozwiązania tego problemu poprzez wykorzystanie danych dostępnych w informacjach podawanych w publikacjach, takich jak... Nazwisko(a) i imię/imiona autora Afiliacja Koautorzy Samo-cytowania Tytuł źródła Obszar badań …i użyliśmy tych danych do pogrupowania artykułów należących do tego samego autora. No więc jak działa Author Identifier?
