Legionowski Poviat is situated in the central part of Mazovia Lowland. It includes the territory of five communes: Jabłonna, Legionowo, Nieporęt, Serock and Wieliszew. It is surrounded by Nowodworski Poviat (on the west), Wyszkowski and Wołomiński Poviats (on the east), Pułtuski Poviat (on the north) and Warsaw (on the south). The main attraction of Legionowski Poviat is Zegrzyńskie Lake, traditionally called Zalew Zegrzyński. The huge part of poviat area is included in Warsaw Protected Landscape Area. There are ten nature reservations there: Wąwóz Szaniawskiego, Zegrze, Jabłonna, Łęgi Czarnej Strugi, Bukowiec Jabłonowski, Wieliszewskie Łęgi, Puszcza Słupecka, Jadwisin, Ławice Kiełpińskie and Kępy Kazuńskie.
