The UK and London
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain is a big country in Europe.
The UK consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Norther Ireland.
Each country has its own flag. The flag of England is red and white. The flag of Scotland is blue and white. The flag of Wales is red, green and white. The flag of Northern Ireland is the Union Jack.
The flag of the whole UK is the Union Jack (you can see it in the background). It’s red, white and blue.
The country has an area of 93,800 square miles (243,000 km 2 ). The population of the UK is about 60 million people.
The capital city of UK is London, an important global city and financial centre with a population of about 7 million people.
London is a beautiful city with many attractions such as: Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, London Eye, British Museum, Towe Bridge, Tower of London and many more!
It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. The monarch- since 6 February is Queen Elizabeth II.
The United Kingdom is a developed country.
