5 Na początek pytanie… Czym jest ADDM ?
Before we begin today we have a quick question for the audience. How many of you are familiar with Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping?

6 Atrium Discovery & Dependency Mapping ADDM - Wyróżniki
Wirtualny appliance z bezagentowym wykrywaniem Użyteczne informacje w ciągu kilku godzin Metryki, Raporty & Wyszukiwanie ‘Google-like’ Szybki i prosty dostęp do danych Pochodzenie danych Wiarygodne i aktualne informacje Slide objective: Present the key ADDM differentiators Virtual Appliance with Agentless Discovery BMC Atrium Discovery was designed to give you the fastest time to value compared to competitive discovery solutions. It is very easy to deploy because it installs as a virtual appliance and discovery does not require an agent. So you can get usable information within a few hours of installation. 1. Agent-less discovery method. Rolling out agents to every host in the estate is expensive, time consuming and high maintenance. With an agent-less approach there's no software to roll out to the managed hosts; therefore it is the best solution that achieves a balance between discovery depth, impact to the target infrastructure, and administration overhead. 2. Appliance delivery model. The product is packaged as a ready-to run appliance, either as a virtual machine or a bare-metal kick start.  This  allows you to get up and running very quickly. There's no installation process to run through, no external database to license and maintain, no specific configuration and operating system requirements to satisfy. You can be up and running within twenty minutes of starting the installation. 3. Simple administration. Discovery is configured with just an IP range, a schedule and a set of credentials. However, even without credentials, ADDM can do basic discovery of devices on the network and a first attempt at identifying their operating system. Dashboards, Reports & ‘Google-like’ Search Second Atrium Discovery consistently gets the highest scores on usability in the market. The problem with most discovery products is they do a horrible job of presenting the information to you because you have to drill down into so many layers. Atrium Discovery has a very friendly interface and it takes very little time to figure out how to navigate through the product. Plus Atrium Discovery includes over 200 OOTB reports and preconfigured dashboards so you can slice, dice and analyze the data center with a set of analytical tools right in the browser. Each dashboard is designed to provide answers to common IT questions. It’s easy to create a custom dashboard for the way you want to view the data through the product’s drag and drop feature. Some of the more popular OOTB dashboards are: Host Overview - provides information on the numbers of hosts, distribution of host types, and the memory and compute power of hosts in your IT infrastructure. Software Products Summary - provides a breakdown of software products identified on your network, the categories of software products identified, and database versions. Operating Systems - provides a breakdown of operating system types and versions. It also has links to detailed reports on patches and kernels. Hardware Reference Data - provides information on the physical and thermal characteristics of the hosts in your IT Infrastructure for ex, Host Compute Power, Host Compute Power and Watts and Hardware Analysis Oracle dashboard - provides information on all of the Oracle databases in your IT infrastructure including Oracle Versions, Servers running Oracle: By Operating System and Servers running Oracle: Virtual vs. Physical ADDM’s search capabilities are unmatched by competitors. Everyone knows how easy it is to use Google! ADDM’s search is just as easy and powerful as Google search. Data Provenance => ADDM’s Provenance feature builds trust in the data If the data produced by a discovery tool is suspect, then it will not be used ubiquitously across the enterprise. For an automated Discovery tool to be trusted and accepted by the user community, it must provide transparency into how the data was obtained. ADDM’s Provenance feature provides the chain of evidence for validating how the attributes and relationships were obtained. Provenance is available for all data within the ADDM data model. Provenance shows the actual command that was executed, the output of the command, and the timestamp when it happened. This is indisputable evidence why this data can be trusted. Provenance is vital to building trust in automatically discovered data and thus speeds adoption of the data into business processes. Collaborative Application Mapping => this is a new capability in ADDM 8.3 Collaborative application mapping makes the creation of self-maintaining application maps simple by providing a workflow and collaboration tools that make it easy to obtain information about applications from the line-of-business. This drastically reduces the time, effort and cost of mapping multi-tier applications to the IT infrastructure supporting them.  Using these maps, IT can better understand how applications and infrastructure work together to deliver the services that enterprises depend on. Built on BMC Atrium Architecture Finally you are going to want to use the discovery data and application maps to optimize management decisions. BMC Discovery is built on the Atrium Architecture and through the Atrium CMDB, discovery data is automatically shared with Business Service Management processes and applications. Atrium Discovery includes default mappings to map data to Atrium CMDB classes - for ex computer systems, processor, operating system, application, cluster etc. It also exports dependency relationships. And through continuous synchronization, the CMDB is always kept up-to-date with the latest discovered data. Use configuration data in common IT processes: Help Desk Change management Asset and software license management Configuration drift management Use dependency data for: Change impact analysis Root cause analysis Service modeling Service impact management For those of you who are not familiar with ADDM 8.3 we would like to highlight the differentiators some of the top analysts firms are touting which places BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping as the leader in the market place. ADDM can be delivered as a Virtual Appliance-Quick return on investment (ROI) with agentless discovery via common protocols True seamless usability is delivered with access to 200+ OOTB reports and comprehensive search engine Accurate data representation with provenance, showing the access method for data retrieval at the source and what commands were used **New for 8.3** Collaborative Application Mapping-CAM reduces resource involvement and quickens the total time of effort around building application maps and service models And ADDM is part of the Atrium platform and is OOTB , natively integrated with BMC BSM solutions Collaborative Application Mapping Automatyzacja zarządzania modelami usługowymi Nowość! Zbudowane w architekturze BMC Atrium Bezproblemowa wymiana informacji w ramach procesów i aplikacji BSM

7 Ulepszone Dostarczanie Usług IT
Automatyczne Modelowanie Aplikacji Skalowalność Od prostych do kompleksowych środowisk Uproszczenie i automatyzacja modelowania aplikacji Szybciej, łatwiej, mniej kodowania Now that we know a little bit about how ADDM 8.3 supports IT initiatives we would like to touch on one of the main value drivers for the release. Improving Service Delivery. One of the more commonly known and fastest ways to improve service delivery is through some sort of automated application modeling which happens to be an integral part of service delivery. Bieżąca synchronizacja z CMDB

8 Mapy aplikacji i modele usług
Application maps are key components of Service Models. The faster and more automated you can provide application maps to your stakeholders the more time and resources are saved. So how are we becoming better with application maps in ADDM 8.3 and providing an industry first (something none of our competitors have)? Through a new feature in 8.3 called Collaborative Application Mapping…to explain a little more about this feature is the ADDM Product Manager Simon Woodward….Simon please go ahead.

Biz App Biz App So what is application mapping? Problem = “I don’t know, at scale, which business services are supported by which infrastructure.” Follow on probs Impact analysis, ranging from not knowing the effect of rebooting a switch, all the way across to planning a datacenter move or consolidation. A service needs major work. Who do we notify? A SAN switch goes out. What’s the effect? Who do we notify!? Root cause analysis – event thrown – what does that mean? 1,000 events were simultaneously thrown across a couple of hundred servers – are they the same one? So what is application mapping? Well... application mapping is the process of filling in that bit in the middle. Biz App

George. Problem. This is the process of actually obtaining the knowledge that goes into your application map. Firstly, you need to know which applications are going to be mapped first. Obviously you’d like to do them all, but inevitably you start with a list of your most critical ones. This is usually provided by the business – often relating to the SLAs that are defined for various services (and thus their supporting applications), how close that service is to business criticality and so on. For each service, you need to know its owner. Who is the guy you’re going to talk to about the map? Who’s going to agree that the map is as complete as it needs to be? And then, obviously, you need to know what the stuff is that’s going to go into your service map. What software and thus hardware supports the app?
