14 Modernizacja oświetlenia na energooszczędne
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Within “We set the example” project, we have created 4 model eco-classrooms in our school. Students and teachers spend a lot of hours at school every day. The good work atmosphere favours better concentration and higher efficiency, therefore the motivation of learning is higher and the results of learning are better. Appropriate environment in the classrooms mainly depends on the right lighting. That is why we conducted the modernization of the lighting by replacing old lamp covers with saving energy ones as well as ordinary fluorescent lamps into energy saving ones. That gives over 50% saved energy in our school model eco-classrooms. We also installed more light near the blackboards.

16 Modernizacja oświetlenia na energooszczędne
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach …as well as in the corridors downstairs. Now, we are facing a big challenge – how to win funds to modernize the lighting in the remaining classrooms. That would help us reduce the energy consumption in our school.

17 Model energooszczędnego mieszkania
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach As for a different project, students made a model of energy saving flat, equipped with renewable sources of energy (a wind power station and a solar panel) and its own sewage treatment plant. Broadening our knowledge, we realize that living in the times of deepening energy crisis, there is a need to derive the energy from renewable resources.

18 Promujemy odnawialne źródła energii

Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach In order to involve as many people as possible in the project and to educate the local community, there were different competitions organized, i.e. a competition to make a windmill/ wind power station out of recyclable materials, - that one was 3 meters high!

Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach To be able to substantiate many of the eco activities that we undertake in our Gimnazjum and to be aware of current, interdisciplinary educational trends that introduce multimedia and the Internet, we organized journalist workshops called “ EcoTeams Reporters”.

Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Students were also able to participate in the trip to Toyota workshop in Radom. The company is known for using the ecological solutions in their car production.

Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Within the framework of our project, we went on a trip to Power Station in Świerże Górne, Kozienice. The aim of our trip was to get to know the structure of the station and how it works as well as the technology and undertakings that help in taking care of the environment. We visited the pump station, buildings of flats and a huge coal storage.

28 Wycieczka do Elektrowni Kozienice
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Then, we went to look at newly finished investment – desulfuring fumes installation. It consists of a new chimney that is 150m high and 20m in diameter to which the desulfuring fumes are brought. We familiarized ourselves with the biomass combustion installation which will also influence the technological development putting ecology as the highest priority.

Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Foundation for the support of ecological initiatives organized a symposium in our school. The subject of the meeting was “Renewable sources of energy”. Over 100 students and 30 teachers from schools in Pionki took part in it.

33 Debata „Jak możemy chronić patki?”
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach At our school we also participated in the international e-twinning project called: “I’m a friend of animals, I love them, respect them and take care of them – birds in my country”. Within this project, students organized debate “How can we protect birds?”. We could exchange our experiences and ideas concerning birds and their safety in our neighbourhood.

34 Nasi goście: Sławomir Wąsik i dr Andrzej Kruszewicz

Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach We were honoured by the visit of dr Andrzej Kruszewicz, the director of Warsaw Zoo, a veterinarian and an ornithologist and by the visit of Mr Sławomir Wąsik. Both our guests gave us valuable and useful information on how to deal with birds.

36 I festyn rodzinny „Ekologiczne Babie Lato”
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach The aim of the fun fair was to make people pay attention to saving and protecting the environment, mainly by recycling. And such a lesson was presented while having fun and singing.

38 Powiatowy turniej piłki nożnej pt. „Puszka w grze”
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach We also organized the football tournament of our district called ”Kick the tin”. The aim was to promote healthy life style doing sport, to promote and follow the rules of sustainable development and to collect aluminium cans.

45 Wojewódzki Konkurs Poezji Ekologicznej
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Our school’s tradition is to promote the ecological attitude through poetry. This year we have organized The Fourth Edition of Province Eco Poetry Competition entitled: “Let’s be more trendy”. The competition was divided into two age categories – primary schools and high schools from Mazovian province.

46 Gala Poezji Ekologicznej
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach The results of The Fourth Edition of Province Eco Poetry Competition and prizes were given during the Ecological Poetry Gala. There were many guests taking part in our gala, among whom we had: local authorities, main partners, laureates together with their teachers, poetry lovers and all those for whom the environmentally friendly actions matter.

There aren’t many schools with green flags, so it is a great distinction for us. Especially when our actions benefit the environment.

Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Utworzenie Ośrodka Edukacji Ekologicznej na Zielonych Szlakach Greenways w PG 1 Our school was placed among the laureates in national competition for creating eco education centre on green trails of greenway organized by the partnership for environment foundation. There were only 12 winners chosen. The prizes were given by the president of environment foundation in Lillehamer, the ambassador of Norway in Poland and by Rafał Serafin, the president of the management of the partnership for environment foundation.

Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Konkurs „Zbiórka makulatury” – organizator Samorząd Województwa Mazowieckiego III miejsce w roku 2008 I miejsce w roku 2009 II miejsce w roku 2010 I miejsce w roku 2011 I miejsce w roku 2012 In the competition “Collecting Recyclable Paper” organized by Marshal Office of Mazovian Province we were in the lead and last year we won the first place due to the amount of collected paper.

Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach We also took part in the competition that was organized by the town council in Bełchatów. Our project “School more trendy” received a certificate of Promoter of friendly energy and was granted zloty.

54 Nagroda krajowa w europejskim konkursie „U4energy”
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach Energy campaign in our school involving making, respecting and using energy showed the best example of effective actions and was nominated the best one in Poland. “The school more trendy” project gained the national reward in European competition “U4 energy” organized by European commission.

55 Nagroda krajowa w europejskim konkursie „U4energy”
Publiczne Gimnazjum z Oddziałami Integracyjnymi nr im. Jana Kochanowskiego w Pionkach The U4 energy competition was financed within the intelligent energy for Europe program. The ceremony of rewarding took place on the 26th of November 2012 in the Belgian comic museum, a famous building in the centre of Brussels. The representatives of European commission were present at the ceremony. There were over 200 participants from 30 European countries – we were one of them.

Uczestnicy zwiedzali Komisję Europejską oraz Parlamentarium. During the stay in Brussels, the finalists could take part in a special education program in the international polar foundation, in European commission and the Parliamentarium.
